We're a collective of folk who practice
the art of improv comedy through jams, workshops and shows.

The Improv Cooperative is a place to do improvisational comedy in a fun,
supportive and egalitarian atmosphere, owned by everyone who uses it.
Whether you've been doing improv for five minutes or 15 years,
whether you want to practice long form, short form or volunteer,
you're welcome here!

Our Events, every Monday

1st Monday: All Made Up!

Our monthly show! Three teams are given 30 minutes each to put on a performance where everything is All Made Up! Many of the teams have been formed through Cooperative events, and we often have call outs for ensemble teams, too.

2nd Monday: Short Form Jam

An audience-free environment to practice short-form games, similar in style to "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Think 'scenes where you can only talk in gibberish' or 'scenes where this person believes they are a dog'.

3rd Monday: Long Form Jam

An audience free environment to practoce longer scenes, similar in style to "Very Important People" or "Murderville". Long form comes in many different formats, but most resembly sketch shows or follow a narrative.

4th Monday: A workshop!

Each month, a guest teacher leads a session on different improv skills.

Sign up to our mailing list for news on all the latest events, photos, and at least one chicken joke per month.

All Kinds of Improv

Short Form? Long Form? Musical? We practice all these types of improv and more.

All Kinds of Accessible

We are continually trying to keep the Coop accessible by booking accessible venues, ensuring events cater to as many people as possible, and making our events as low cost as we can afford.

All Kinds of Fun

As well as improv, we have regular, chilled out socials so you can hang out and get to know your fellow improvisers.
